Short Bio
Hi! My name is Mariko. I’m a creative spirit, a mom, and first generation Japanese-American. I’m inspired by my mother’s boundless creativity and my father’s ability to fix absolutely anything. I am dedicated to integrating the timeless principles of mottainai—honoring the value of minimizing waste—and wabi-sabi, which celebrates the beauty in imperfection. Through thoughtful mending, creative upcycling, and mindful thrifting, I strive to give new life to forgotten items, reduce waste, and promote a more sustainable way of living.
