Third and Fourth Graders, along with a favorite adult, are invited to join Beebe Library's First Thursday Book Club.

Share the love of reading in your family! We will be reading some of the very best middle grade books and explore beyond the plot to seek the themes, the authors' secret purpose, and what makes each book special. Along with the discussion, there will be a craft or activity and a snack to take home that goes along with each month's book.

The book is Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Luke lives in a society where scarce resources have caused the government to limit each family to two children. His biggest problem is that he is a forbidden third child that must be kept hidden. Although he can’t go outside, he watched his neighbors from the attic of his home. One day, when the neighbors and their two boys left their home, Luke saw something - a face at their upstairs window.  Is it another hidden child?
