A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage through Music and Dance

Thursday, September 226:30—8:00 PMFront PlazaBeebe Library345 Main Street, Wakefield, MA, 01880

The 2022 Hispanic Heritage Month Observance Theme, “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation”, encourages us to ensure that all voices are represented and welcomed to help build stronger communities and a stronger nation. What better way to display the creativity and diversity of the Hispanic community than through music and dance.

On Thursday, September 22, 2022, the Wakefield Human Rights Commission (WHRC) will present a commemoration of Hispanic Heritage with an evening program of music and dance on the Beebe Library plaza. Dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to party with Consentidos from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Dance demonstrations and instruction in multiple Latin genres will be provided by the professional team of Raul and Eileen of Dance Caliente.

Consentidos is Charly Duri from Mexico on lead vocals and accompanying guitar and Oscar Gomez from Colombia on second voice and requinto guitar. You may remember Charly’s electric performance at last year’s celebration. The duo has an extensive repertoire of the most popular Latin genres. A dance instructor will demonstrate different dances for a variety of genres. Saritin Rizzuto will provide a bilingual kick off for the event

This is a free event presented by the WHRC with assistance from the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library.
