Mental Health First Aid for Adults

In this 4-hour session, participants will learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate professional care if necessary. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions.  Offered in conjunction with the Wakefield Health & Human Services department. 

Instructor: Amy Chiaravalloti, M.Ed is the Prevention & Wellness Coordinator for the Town of Wakefield where she coordinates Prevention Services programs related to substance use, mental health, violence prevention, and active living. In addition, she is the Executive Director of Wakefield Alliance Against Violence. Before coming to Wakefield, she was a health educator for students in grades 6-12.
