Northern Moose: Surviving Warming Maine Winters

Tuesday, March 27:00—8:30 PMONLINEBeebe Library345 Main Street, Wakefield, MA, 01880

Follow professional wildlife photographer Bob Michelson as he documents the life history and behaviors exhibited by Northern Moose in Maine. This presentation will show current research efforts to learn more about the largest moose population in the United States outside of Alaska. The estimated moose population of 75,000 animals is under stress by an infestation of Winter tick’s on young calves at a growing rate every year in the springtime, causing the youngsters to become anemic and greatly reduce their survivability in the wild.
