Plaza Jazz returns to Thursday nights! 


This week, the Rhythm Future Trio will be performing on the Plaza.


Performer bios: 

Henry Acker (guitar):

Henry Acker is a young powerhouse jazz guitarist who performs both in the style of Django Reinhardt as well as traditional jazz. A child prodigy who began playing at age 8 and performing professionally at age 9, his talent and abilities have developed into nothing short of astonishing. Henry has already shared the stage with jazz greats Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Vignola, Julian Lage, Bireli Lagrene and Vic Juris. He is a five-time winner of the Downbeat Magazine Student Award for jazz guitar soloist.

Dan Pappas (keys):

Graduating from Westfield State University (2014) with a focus on Classical, Jazz, Music Theory and Composition, Dan Pappas has since performed in 13 countries. Pappas performs regularly as part of the Jerry Bergonzi Quintet and records piano for the network TV show The Masked Singer. Pappas also produces music regularly with Drummer and Producer Charles Haynes (Ed Sheerhan, Kanye West, Queen Latifa, Lady Gaga, Robert Glasper, ect). In 2020 Pappas produced an EP with Charles Haynes and bassist John Sullivan (Roy Haynes band) which featured saxophonist Walter Smith III. Pappas currently performs regularly in and around boston with the likes of Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, Phil Grenadier, John Sullivan, Charles Haynes, Henry Acker, Yoron Israel, and many more.

Gregory Toro (bass):

Gregory Toro was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He fell in love with music and rhythm as a child, and at the age of ten joined a neighborhood steel band that played calypso and church music on weekends. He later took up guitar and piano, but found his true calling as a bass player when he was sixteen years old. Greg studied electric and upright bass and jazz composition at Berklee College of Music, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with musicians from many different countries and cultures. He has gone on to travel the world with jazz and rock groups, and continues to perform nightly in a wide variety of styles.
