One of the most rural parts of Eastern Europe, Maramureș lies in the extreme northwest of Romania, bordering Ukraine. Known for its incredible wooden churches, there are many beautiful villages, pastoral landscapes, and working farms. It's an ideal place to explore on foot, by car, or bicycle.
